From Ottawa, Highway 417 West to the Almonte exit, Highway 49 West for 12 kms, then follow the signs. From West and South of Almonte, Highway 7 or 15 to Carleton Place, then Highway 29 North to Almonte. From Arnprior and North, Highway 17, then Highway 29 South to Almonte. There is very limited on-site parking. On-site parking is $15 and only available to purchase at the gate. There is no in-and-out privileges.
There is free parking at the Almonte Arena, with a shuttle service to and from the Games site. For a map to the off-site parking please visit Google maps.
The last shuttle bus leaves the grounds at 7:00 pm.
There is NO RV/trailer parking on site. Trailers and RV’s may be parked at the Almonte & District Community Center.
There are a limited number of handicapped parking spaces. Wheelchair-accessible space in front of the grandstand is available on a first come first served basis. The washroom facility is wheelchair accessible.
NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL PERMITTED
Notwithstanding recent provincial policy changes, BYOB requires approval through the appropriate local municipal by-laws and event/location-specific coordination. No such approval is in place for this event.
Outside alcohol is not permitted on the grounds. Alcohol is available for purchase at our refreshment tent at reasonable prices.
Anyone found bringing in or consuming outside alcohol will be asked to leave the grounds.
Yes. Advance admission is $15 for adults ($20 at the gate). Children under 12 are free. Tickets are available at local retailers and online. See the tickets page for details.
Unfortunately, tickets are final sale and nonrefundable.
Face painting and other activities start at 12 pm.
A kids mini-games will be held after our Opening Ceremonies around 2:00 pm, with events such as “wellie hurling” taking place inside the main gate on the infield. More information.
The grandstands and bleachers tend to fill up by noon but there is a lot of perimeter space for lawn chairs.
There are several bed and breakfast and Air BnB establishments in and around Almonte. The nearest motels are in Carleton Place and Pakenham.
Yes. You are solely and completely responsible for your dog.
- Your dog MUST be leashed at all times.
- Do not leave your dog unattended.
- Please pick up after your dog.
- If your dog is seen acting aggressive or that you have not been picking up after your dog, we reserve the right to request the removal of your dog from the grounds.
The North Lanark Highland Games is not liable for any damages, injuries or losses caused by guests bring their dogs to this event.
